Alongside playrooms we also have many cosy nooks for children to play there, a dressing room that can be used for play and a terrace, where children can even have a meal or lunch during the day. The kidnergarten has a large gym that is often used also for various performances organised by our children for visiting kindergartens and schools.

Unit Križe is situated in newly renovated premises and comprises 8 groups of children, ranging from 1 to 6 years of age. It is located on the brinks of the village Križe in the midst of the surrouding fields and meadows. Next to the kindergarten there is also the Križe primary school and a large fenced playground. The area provides a healthy and safe environment for various outside activities. A part of the playground is also roofed for the children to be able to remain outside in the case of bad weather. In the surrounding area, there is also a hill, where children can sledge and build snowmen in winter. In the south and east tall trees provide a shade for play in case of hot summer days.

Unit Deteljica is located in the centre of Bistrica pri Tržiču and comprises 9 groups of children, ranging from 1 to 6 years of age. Deteljica has a large playground next to it, that is due to renovation and modernization in the near future. It has been partly renovated at its 30 years. The playground comprises a large grassy area with trees, several sandboxes, toboggans and roofed areas for outside activities during bad weather. The unit has a terrace that is easily accessible from an inside playroom.

EVERY-DAY ACTIVITIES AT THE KINDERGARTEN

EVERY-DAY ACTIVITIES AT THE KINDERGARTEN

Daily programme provides safe and healthy activities, which stimulate children’s potentials. Emphasis is also put on creating emotionally warm environment, so that children feel happy and loved in the kindergarten.

  • Welcoming children in the morning – First daily contact of child and pre-school teacher is important. This is also a possibility for communication between parents and the pre-school teacher about events of the previous day, child’s behaviour at home, his health and others.
  • Educational activities – Day in kindergarten is filled with spontaneous play and structured activities. Pre-school teachers prepare the play-room, materials and conditions with consideration of children’s needs, developmental level and their own initiative.

This enhances children’s creativity, exploration and imagination. Areas of activities in kindergarten are: movement, language, art, social sciences, science and mathematics.

Activities take place in the kindergarten or outside.

  • Nutrition and food – We offer children 3 meals daily: breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack and fruit is offered between breakfast and lunch. Diet meals are also provided if necessary. All meals that our kitchen offers are healthy and provide 70 % of daily value of child’s food intake.

From the educational point of view we try to introduce habits of cultural food-consuming.

  • Resting in kindergarten – Sleeping in kindergarten is not obligatory, but it is offered to all children. According to child’s needs and parents’ wishes we offer peaceful activities to those children, who do not sleep in the kindergarten (play in the nooks of the play-room, books, drawing, listening to the music …).
